A silent 45-second film. Nine UK council calendars are stacked against a September-to-August axis and none of them break together, spreading half-terms across four weeks and the summer across five. Six holiday countries follow their own school years, with Spain emptying its classrooms about four weeks before England. Twenty-four calendars are then stacked together, UK councils plus destinations plus the countries whose visitors fill them, under a chart counting how many are off in each week of the year. For the week of 4 July 2026 in Spain, each source market is drawn as a bar whose length is how much that market matters there and whose fill is how much of it is off; the weighted total comes to a crowd score of 7 per cent. The finder then takes a date range and a trip length and returns ranked windows with their scores. The film closes on the two ways to use it: 38 per cent for the calmest week of the summer holiday when term dates are fixed, 4 per cent for the first week of September when they are not.
